Last Sunday we brought our ideas of the Artist Recipe Project to the Alfred Farmers Market. Catching the end of the zucchini season, we selected one of our artists Matthew Underwood’s zucchini bread recipe and brought it into reality, as an endorsement of our project. Artist Recipe Project recently became part of 1% for the Planet. As we introduced people to 1% for the Planet, this allowed us to talk about why we decided to make these reusable wooden plates and install the simple setup. We chose all of the ingredients from the local as the material for the zucchini bread. During the time of putting everything together, it gave us a chance to experiment with laser cutting on vegetables which had a unique visual expression that matched our project.

From responses like a grandma’s complement about the bread, to sincere discussions with college students about our project, we are convinced that this “making” couldn’t happen without the appreciation for each other, gathering the seriousness of art and daily moments.
